BOOK YOUR HOLIDAY
SATLUJ
River SATLUJ possesses one of the most challenging river runs in the world. The freezing waters, huge rocks, fast currents and series of testing rapids make this a very formidable river for white water rafting and kayaking.
SATLUJ
River Satluj originates close to Lake Rakhastal in Kailash Mountain Ranges in the Tibetan Plateau as Longchen Khabab River. It enters India at Shipki La (6608m) and commences its Himalayan descent of 320 km in Himachal Pradesh before entering the plains at Bilaspur. The major town along its course are Namgia, Kalpa, Jakhri, Rampur Bushair, Tattapani and Bilaspur.
Pep Turf organizes the Satluj Expedition for two categories of River Runners. The 'Go Satluj' itinerary caters for beginners as well as people with some rafting experience.' Pro Satluj Expedition' is a challenging one, as on the first two days, the river offers a series of Grade III, IV and V rapids. 'Pro Satluj' requires pre- expedition training on Ganges with Pep Turf in river techniques and handling emergencies. This is followed by two days advanced training on River Satluj before commencing the Expedition Proper. For 'Go Satluj' pre- expedition training is not required. All you require is only 5 days to experience this Himalayan wonder.
The expedition members should be prepared to absorb the stunning landscapes, rich culture, flavour of both urban and rural Himachal, and of course, an overdose of adrenalin supply with Pep Turf, the 'Safest in White Waters'.
